When You're At The End of Yourself

Our deepest wounds can become the soil for divine transformation. This truth resonates deeply in the captivating journey of Dave's beloved mother, Clo Pearman. Her transformation from despair to salvation in Jesus vividly showcases the profound impact of God's forgiveness on our lives.

This story happened many years before Dave was adopted. A Dark Decision

Clo was not a believer yet, and neither was her husband (Don Pearman). At this time, for many months, Clo had found herself in a very dark place. She was ensnared in a suffocating grip of despair which led her into thinking of ending her life. She had been struggling. She whispered to God, “God, if You’re real, show Yourself to me.” But she didn’t hear or feel anything. Clo was at the end of herself. Finally, she made a dark decision. She got the gun from the drawer; her eyes were filled with tears. She was sad about leaving her husband and her two girls behind, but she felt dark, sorrowful, overwhelmed, guilty, and full of anguish. With a gun aimed at her head, she cried incessantly but quietly, almost without a sound. She stood on the precipice of darkness with all her brokenness. Her spirit was on the brink of collapse, and she didn’t know where and how to mend this brokenness. There was no way out that seemed better. She took a deep breath and thought, “Now it’s time.” A Timely Knock In that very moment, she heard a TIMELY KNOCK on her door. It was her Christian friend, Corkie. The knock on the door shattered her silence, putting the fear of God inside of her. Corkie was sent by God to visit Clo. Clo was trembling, full of shock with the holy fear of the Lord, the good fear of the Lord that drew her to repentance. Corkie told her about Jesus and led her to pray the prayer of salvation. It was a moment of divine intervention. Clo cried, now, audible and full of gratefulness. Clo got a new life. A second chance. Surrendering her life to Jesus that night, Clo experienced the liberating power of God's forgiveness. As she embraced Jesus and His forgiveness into her heart, the transformative ripple effect of forgiveness was profound in Clo's life.

Filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude, Clo felt compelled to extend grace and compassion to those around her, embodying God's message of redemption through her life.

Jesus Is Calling

Clo found God when she reached the end of herself. If you right now feel like you’re at the end of yourself, cry out to God. He’ll come and change you like He did to Clo. At the end of yourself, you're at the beginning of God.

If you want to give your life to Jesus or rededicate your life to Him, here is a simple prayer you can pray: Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and transform my life. Lord Jesus, I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.

If you just said this prayer, congratulations! The next step would be find a local church that believes in the Bible and honors the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Or find a Christian friend to help you grow in Him.

O Come to the Altar by Elevation Worship Are you hurting and broken within? Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin? Jesus is calling! Have you come to the end of yourself? Do you thirst for a drink from the well? Jesus is calling! O come to the altar The Father’s arms are open wide. Forgiveness was bought with The precious blood of Jesus Christ .….
